‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Joseph Morgan will return as Klaus
Just in case there was any doubt pertaining to whether or not “The Vampire Diaries” season 5 would feature a return for one of their most-iconic characters, let that start to wash away from your brain now. Why? It has just been confirmed that after a great deal of waiting and speculation, you are going to see more of Joseph Morgan and his character Klaus.
According to TV Guide, you are going to see Klaus return to Mystic Falls at some point this season, where he likely still feels like he has a little bit of unfinished business when it comes to Caroline. Thanks to both this show and “The Originals” both shooting in Atlanta, he probably feels like this is a crossover that can happen with very little effort to it at all. Morgan was a part of the flagship show ever since the end of season 2, and eventually became so popular that it was impossible for the writers to find a way to kill the character off (and they seemingly thought about it on a few occasions).
Should you take this as some sort of evidence that Caroline and Klaus could get back together? You really shouldn’t, if for no other reason than that the two clearly have some other priorities on their hands and matters that they must attend to. Caroline, for one, is trying to get used to not being with Tyler, and as much as Klaus may claim to care about her on some sort of bizarre level, we still feel like she is not going to be able to get over just how many terrible things that the hybrid has done. You’re talking about killing those close to both Elena and Tyler, and also holding Michael Trevino’s character hostage for so long that he refused to go back to Mystic Falls for a long time. Indirectly, you can blame him for the “Forwood” relationship (i.e. Tyler and Caroline) falling apart.
Morgan’s appearances on “The Vampire Diaries” could occur indefinitely, depending on how long the two shows each last for. We can at least be assured that there will likely be at least another year for both, unless their ratings suddenly fall off a cliff in the new year. With the standard that has been set, though, it’s pretty darn hard to see that happening.
