‘The Amazing Race Canada’ season 2 now seeking applications
Did you love “The Amazing Race Canada” the first time around? If so, you’re not alone. The show actually had a season this past summer that was even better than the American counterpart, and that was even when you consider that the entire show was set within the borders of the country. (This may have actually helped, since it was almost a love letter to the country and its vast spirit of national pride.)
Season 2 will premiere on CTV this coming summer, and the good news for many of you now is that the show is seeking applications once again for this batch of episodes. Want to apply? Here’s a little bit of what you need to know.
2. Read over all of the various rules to make sure that you are eligible. (The last thing that you want to do is go through most of the process and then leave later on a technicality.)
3. Fill out all of the forms, and prepare the perfect little video showing off you and your partner.
While there are a list of video tips online, we thought we’d include a little bit of advice here as someone who has went through the reality TV casting process successfully before. You want to have at least an idea of what you want to say in the clip going into it, but not to the extent that you come across as rehearsed or robotic. It’s okay to have a few spontaneous moments, or come up with great ways to show who you are without just standing there in front of the camera.
Here’s a very important one: Don’t create a fake “Amazing Race” for yourself in the video. That’s what their editors are for, and you have a limited amount of time to show who you are. Remember that for this show especially, they are looking for not just personalities, but a relationship. Make sure you highlight the highs and lows of your relationship between you and your partner, especially if there is something that you hope to get out of the race. That is what helped winners Tim & Tim Jr. get on the show last year, or runners-up Jody & Cory. You don’t have to be a big personality if you have a great story that you can present of your team.
