‘Shark Tank’ preview: Paparazzi Proposals and a SoundBender update

Shark Tank -Friday’s “Shark Tank” episode is looking to be quite the interesting one based on everything that we are hearing now. The products lined up are at least interesting, and you don’t have to look any further with this than Paparazzi Proposals.

First of all, let’s start with what is the clear negative of the product: The word “paparazzi” in the name. That has such a negative connotation to it that regardless of the service, not everyone wants to be associated with someone who calls themselves that. At the same time, it’s the sort of name that generates a ton of interest just because it’s controversial. This may have helped them get on the show in the first place.

What we are interested to see from them on the show tomorrow is how they pitch the product to the sharks that highlights what some of the benefits are, including an opportunity to have someone discreetly capture photos of your proposal or any big event in a way that the natural memory of them is preserved forever. If you really want to live the life of a star for a day, this could be something you’d be interested in.

As for the other negatives, we think some people would probably just prefer to hire a normal photographer to capture some photos after the fact, and there are others who may not be thrilled with the idea of their significant other hiring someone to secretly take pictures of a proposal. We have this hilarious idea in our brain of a woman seeing a camera guy out of the corner of her eye, thinking that it’s someone spying on her, and then taking off in the other direction so the proposal is botched.

We don’t know if we would ever be interested in such a concept, but it is at least sounds interesting and should make for good television tomorrow night. You can see some more details about other products in the synopsis below, including an update on SoundBender, a product that first surfaced last year:

“A paparazzo from New York offers his unique skill to help guys with their marriage proposals; two men from Los Angeles invented a baby bump sound system for mothers-to-be; a Venice, CA bread pudding peddler asks the Sharks to invest in her family-owned business which boasts many flavors of the timeless dessert; and a pet lover from Camarillo, CA wants to change the way people celebrate special occasions with their four-legged friends by using his pet-safe color fur spray paint. Also, an update on Moshe Weiss from St. Paul, MN and SoundBender, a magnetic, power-free iPad amplifier which Daymond John invested in during Season 4.”

The sad news is that there is no Daymond again this week, which bums us out given that he is easily one of our favorites. We’re still not huge Lori Greiner fans, but we do at least appreciate this time that her appearances do not necessarily mean losing the awesome Barbara Corcoran.
