‘Glee’ season 5: Where you can see, hear Adam Lambert prior to appearance

This is going to be quite a week, it turns out, for Adam Lambert … and we are not even talking solely about the time that he is spending on “Glee” Thursday night. In preparation for his guest-starring role as Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert, there will be a pair of appearances for Adam in venues that, like him, have a connection to “American Idol.”

First of all, the singer will be appearing on Tuesday’s edition of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where there will hopefully be some questions asked about some of the music that he is going to make moving forward. While he is no longer with his previous label in RCA, he has still planned on releasing some new tunes that will give fans a greater opportunity to see just what sort of artist he is trying to be now.

Meanwhile, Adam will also be chatting Thursday with Ryan Seacrest on his popular radio show (heard both in Los Angeles and syndicated in other parts). It’s a great chance to do some last-second promotion for “Glee,” but in the process we can sit there and reminisce about what could have been if Adam were a part of the “American Idol” judging panel this year. He had been rumored to be a part of it for quite a while, but the idea apparently started to fall apart of having an all-alumni panel when Kelly Clarkson said that she was not interested in the gig. While Adam would have been great, we also do have to say that the panel that they at least have this year without Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, or Mariah Carey is a step up; at least they have people who can somewhat get along.

Adam’s “Glee” character is a New Jersey performer who auditions to be a part of Kurt Hummel’s new rock band, and is apparently so striking when it comes to his energy that Kurt has to figure out whether or not he can handle such a big personality in the band in the first place.
