‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony’s EP ‘Better Together’ releases, competes with Katy Perry

Take a look -Fifth Harmony is certainly feeling “Better Together” right about now. Not only is the new EP out for the ladies on iTunes, but it is also in a pretty fantastic position on the music charts.

Today, Normani, Camila, Lauren, Ally, and Dinah Jane can celebrate something that has been a long time coming for them. The ladies came in third place on “The X Factor” this past season, and did so despite not even entering the competition as a group. You have to give some credit to the ladies for realizing that this was a chance worth taking, and Simon Cowell for believing in them enough to constantly give them good songs to perform, and a deal with L.A. Reid and Epic Records after the fact. Do we still wish that the group had been given a chance to release a full album before the holidays? Sure, but they are really still in the early stages of their career. Not everyone can go from nowhere to being a successful group overnight, especially when it comes to actually finding a sound and producing songs worthy of an album.

So with all of this, the biggest suggestion that we can give fans of the group right now is to go out and buy the EP (which you can do here), and if you do this, then odds are they will be able to have a full album out later. The biggest achievement the ladies have this morning is reaching the #2 spot on iTunes behind only Katy Perry’s “Prism,” which is probably going to keep that top spot for quite a while given just how popular some of her music is. (Her new single “Unconditionally” is already blowing up the charts.)

Fifth Harmony performed today on “Live! with Kelly and Michael” in promotion of their EP, and you have to believe that a performance on “The X Factor” is coming soon. The live shows begin on Fox next week, and have only been delayed thanks to baseball (which is one of the show’s many problems, since it makes it hard to really remember who anyone is by the time that the show comes back on).

Are you excited for Fifth Harmony’s album, and do you imagine the ladies getting to release a full album at some point next year? Click here if you’re curious in reading some more news about the show this season, and we’ll have more from the ladies soon.
