‘Game of Thrones’ season 4: If only this was one of Tyrion Lannister’s dreams…
Ready for some “Game of Thrones” fun? While the HBO show itself may be celebrating some trophies come Sunday night if it emerges the winner at the Primetime Emmy Awards, you don’t have to wait to see Peter Dinklage with a smile on his face.
No, Tyrion Lannister is not getting his fill of wine and all of the ladies of the night you could imagine. This is something much more innocent, and catered to the young crowd. Peter’s doing “Sesame Street.” Not only that, but he’s singing “Sesame Street”! This is an endearing little game of “Simon Says,” and Peter smartly uses it to show off a different talent that not all knew that he previously had. In some ways, we feel like he’s in an interesting position now as an actor in that he’s landed an iconic role, but in the process some people may have forgotten the great work that he is capable of in other parts. Go watch “The Station Agent,” or his small but hilarious role in “Living in Oblivion” which we believe is a big reason why HBO cast him in the first place.
Just as we said in another “Game of Thrones”-related “Sesame Street” video starring Lena Headey, it is perfectly clear to us just why Sesame Workshop is doing this. They know that three and four-year old kids are not watching the Red Wedding and have no idea who they are. They’re doing this for people like us, who said “sweet!” at the sight of Peter Dinklage singing with Muppets. They hope that those of us with children will engage more in the show, and help to create an interactive learning environment.
Of course, we’ve got the segment with Headey at the link here, and it revolves almost entirely around the word “relax.” In the end, we are pleased to report that it is just as awesome.
