‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 1 preview: Marshall’s dream becomes a nightmare

You have likely been wondering about what sort of a role Sherri Shepherd was going to play on “How I Met Your Mother” season 9, and we now have an answer for you. It’s not going to be that of someone who ever knew Marshall at all. Instead, what we are looking at here is a woman who is really just trying to get some sleep, only to be harassed almost immediately by Jason Segel’s character.

So what was the dilemma facing him? Basically, he had just taken a position as a judge, even though his wife Lily thinks that he is going to be heading to Italy with her. Clearly, he’s nervous about telling her, and he decided that the best way in which to do it would be in-person.

Unfortunately, Marshall runs into problems in the video below from Monday’s premiere episode that he did not expect.

1. Shepherd’s character does not want to be near him, let alone listen to him ramble on and on about some various subjects that she cares absolutely nothing about.

2. Marshall runs into some more trouble when he realizes that his mother has sent out a picture online spoiling the news about him becoming a judge. Do we feel for him? Sure, but at the same time, we really think that this is on him for not telling him mom to keep this under wraps if he was going to handle it another way. If Lily finds out about this sooner rather than later, expect some major drama.
