‘The Originals’ spoilers: Claire Holt on Rebekah, Klaus’ relationship

When “The Originals” premieres on The CW come Thursday, October 3, Rebekah is going to be in a pretty interesting position. Namely, she is not going to be in the episode at all. Thanks to the character spending the summer traveling around with Matt, the writers felt it necessary (and understandably so) to tie up this storyline before throwing the character into a completely new world.

As for a little bit more insight into that decision, just see what Claire Holt had to say in the video below! In it, the actress explains thoroughly about the many complicated layers of her life, including how she has some major trust issues with Klaus stemming from the dozens of times in which he has done terrible things to her. (Also interesting? That there are probably millions more that we don’t know about.) She is a vampire who really wanted a normal life more than anything else, and she is deprived, sadly, from that happening.

Also worth noting in this video is that there is a history between Rebekah and Marcel, and this is something that is certainly worth exploring. Given that Klaus is more or less at odds with his former protegee and king of New Orleans’ supernatural community, he would surely not appreciate it if his very sister had a fondness for the man in some way.

There are many more storylines to surely look forward to here, but sadly, the writers have kept a tight lid on it for now. Thankfully, the wait won’t be much longer.
