‘Supernatural’ season 9: Jared Padalecki takes center stage in latest image

While we have seen some “Supernatural” behind-the-scenes photos so far focusing on the Winchesters together and even Jensen Ackles’ Dean on his own, this is one of the first opportunities we have had during this promotional cycle to have a new photo to share of Jared Padalecki’s character all by himself. Therefore, consider this a surefire reason to be excited.

Outside of Jared Padalecki’s character being the sole focus of this image, there is also at least a somewhat interesting difference in this photo versus the others that we’ve shared of Jensen and returning series regular Misha Collins: The background. While most of the others are in front of a darker background with the sun peeking through, this is a much brighter aesthetic, though with similarities when it comes to multiple shades of paint and signs of wear and tear. It is probably just a different room of whatever building the characters are occupying during this shoot, as further evidenced by the fact that Jared is wearing the same shirt as he is in all of the other publicity images currently out there.

As for what this season is going to hold for the Sam Winchester character, we can really sum it up using a pretty simple word: Recovery. He has to find a way to deal with everything that happened to him at the end of last season with the trials, including some unintended consequences and secrets that could be hidden. On top of what he is going through personally, Sam also has to grapple with the arrival of fallen angels on earth, with many of them suffering from some sort of disorientation thanks to being in a completely new position for the first time.

Tuesday, October 8 is still quite a while away, but have no fear: We will have more news on “Supernatural” in the future.
