‘Supernatural’ season 9: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins laugh in new image

While most of the “Supernatural” season 9 promotional material that we have seen so far has been very much on the serious side, there is a part of us that is very much thrilled to see the show going for some humor in the latest image released by The CW. This picture to the left shows Jensen Ackles (Dean), Jared Padalecki (Sam), and Misha Collins (Castiel) clearly having some fun between takes, and this is once again not meant to be the actual promotional art for the show.

So what is going on here when the photo is taken? There are a number of entertaining possibilities. For one, we imagine that this photo was taken just after Misha realized that there was a squid stuck to the inside of his suit, and that Jensen is the culprit like an episode of “Punk’d.” Or, maybe Misha (hanging his head here shame) made a terrible face in one of the photos, and the on-screen Winchester boys are having a little bit of fun with it.

No matter the reason, we’re just glad to see the three clearly enjoying their time working together on the show. It’s great for camaraderie, and it is another sign that nine seasons clearly does not have to be the end for a group of people who get along so well. There are no plans for this to be the show’s final season, and with popularity staying steady, this could really all come down to just how long all of the actors want to continue having some fun in their roles.

Ackles was recently featured in his own solo promotional photo, and we have to imagine that based on past evidence, more are going to be released very soon. Stay tuned.
