‘Supernatural’ season 9: Jensen Ackles’ Dean stars in latest publicity poster

While The CW may not exactly be a network that packs a significant ratings punch, we are starting to be more and more convinced of one thing: No other network has done a better job of promoting some of its shows over the course of the summer. Whether it is via photos, video, interviews, or something else, the network has really done a great job getting the word out there that they are proud of their shows.

The latest example? Another promotional photo for “Supernatural” season 9, with Jensen Ackles’ Dean front and center for it. As we saw with another recent promotional photo highlighting Misha Collins (Castiel), this is really just a peek behind the scenes at the actual promotional photo, which will be revealed a little bit closer to the October 8 premiere.

This photo is accentuated courtesy of the knife that Jensen is holding, but given that he is facing profile to the shot, his facial expression is not exactly front and center giving him a contemplative look. What’s on Dean’s mind, and does it even matter given how these photos are never really canon to anything?

For Dean this coming season, what we can tease for you right now is to expect some pretty interesting things. In addition to trying to teach Castiel the finer things about being a human, he also has to help Sam recover, and take care of some stories pertaining to himself. There is going to be a possible love interest coming for him this year, along with the typical monsters that this group of hunters has to take on.
