‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: The evolution of Sherri Shepherd

Get ready -Do you like yourself some Sherri Shepherd? If you answer “yes” to this question, then we have some very big news for you now: The actress / “The View” panelist is going to have a larger role than you may have originally thought on this upcoming season of “How I Met Your Mother.”

According to E! News, Shepherd’s role of a woman who Marshall (Jason Segel) encounters on an airplane is going to recur through at least the early part of the season, and there will even be a moment at one point where you have an opportunity to meet her daughter. You wouldn’t see that happen unless the two were getting pretty close, right?

Well, we have a few personal theories as to who this character could be in the context of the show:

1: She is someone who tells off Marshall repeatedly for annoying her while on a flight back to New York from Minnesota, especially since his son Marvin could express how much he does not enjoy airplanes.

2. She could be a valuable source of advice for him, given that he does have a big decision coming in regards to whether or not he wants to be a judge.

3. She could just be a source of comic relief, or someone Marshall knows from his childhood who he has not seen in a long time. We have heard that this is going to be a pretty flashback-heavy season.

Given that this is Sherri Shepherd, the one thing we do feel confident in right now is that she is going to be hilarious. Much is still under wraps about the show’s second half of the season and even the ending, and there’s a good reason for that: It could be more than legendary. Even Josh Radnor does not want to know anything until he has to read the script.
