ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Joshua Gomez and the link to Nathan Fillion
Now this is beyond awesome news … even if Captain Awesome is not involved. If you have been missing Joshua Gomez on TV these days, Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor, who is best known for his role as Chuck Bartowski’s best friend Morgan Grimes on one of our personal favorite shows of all time in “Chuck,” is going to be stopping by “Castle” for what looks as though it is going to be a pretty entertaining season 6 role.
You may have heard recently the news about there being an episode themed around a man who is involved in an investigation, who also happens to suspiciously claim that he is from the future. Gomez will be this said man, who claims that he has come back from the future, Marty McFly-style, to try and stop certain events from happening.
What’s also interesting at this point is the rather fun connection between him and Nathan Fillion, given that there is only one degree between them at this point. Fillion was on “Firefly” with Gomez’s co-star Adam Baldwin, and Baldwin also guest-starred on “Castle” back in season 4 as a ruthless detective in the New York Police Department. This is probably going to be a really fun “Castle” episode, especially given that it will follow up some pretty serious stuff regarding Castle and Beckett’s possible engagement. (You can read a little bit more about that at this link.)
What do you think about this casting, and are you secretly hoping that this new character of Gomez’s also knows kung-fu? As always, be sure to share your thoughts below! The new season of “Castle” premieres on ABC Monday, September 23 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.
