‘Glee’ season 5: Naya Rivera talks Demi Lovato casting
As you have likely heard a little earlier in the day, “Glee” is set to get a pretty big addition for at least six episodes this coming season in Demi Lovato. The “Made in the USA” singer is going to be taking on the part this year of Dani, an art-focused woman who ends up spending some time with both Rachel and Santana in New York City. This is the first TV role for the “X Factor” judge since her time on the Disney Channel’s “Sonny with a Chance,” which she fronted for a year prior to her “Camp Rock” tour and subsequent trip to a treatment center.
While there are still many details about Demi’s casting that are unclear, there is one thing that we know now for sure: Many of the “Glee” cast right now are more than thrilled about seeing her come on board the show. Just see what Naya had to say in a post on her Twitter page:
“So excited for @ddlovato to join our cast! Wonder what we’ll get up to in NYC!”
Demi is set to stage at least one musical number with a fellow guest star on the show in Adam Lambert, and we imagine that there are also going to be some performances thrown in there with some other members of the cast. When you have someone like Demi on your side, odds are that you are going to see them used in as many scenes as possible. Demi follows the tradition established by many great “Glee” stars already, including Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Glee” itself will premiere on Fox Thursday, September 26, but we’re sure that we will hear a little bit more about what Demi is up to on the show before then.
