‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley’s characters + a rival

While we know that “The Vampire Diaries” season 5 is going to spend at least a pretty sizable chunk of its storytelling focusing all about the adventures of Elena, Caroline, and others while at college, there is still another important question that needs to be raised: What is going to become of the Salvatore brothers during this span of time? We know right now that Stefan is trapped thanks to his doppelganger Silas, and that Damon is going to try to get accustomed to having a real relationship with Elena for a change.

However, we know that neither character will be holding firm in this sort of stasis forever. With that, we have the following bit of scoop to share! According to TV Guide, you will be finding out plenty more this season about a certain female vampire named Tessa, and she is someone who has a personal connection with Paul Wesley’s character in particular. To what extent are we talking here? Let’s just say that they dated for a while, and she has been hunting both of the Salvatores down ever since.

Luckily for Stefan, most of her earlier encounters are going to actually be with Ian Somerhalder’s character … but that is not particularly great news for him. As a matter of fact, one of the early stories from this season involving Damon is going to revolve around what happens when his daylight ring goes missing, and you know that this will lead to a very inconvenient situation for him as a whole.
