ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Quite possibly the greatest cliffhanger tease ever
If you are a showrunner, there are a number of different ways in which you can go about promoting your show: You can choose to stay silent in hopes that this builds up excitement like a tea kettle getting hot on a stove, you can do a few interviews here and there, or you can leverage the power of social media.
While “Castle‘ creator Andrew W. Marlowe has used all three of these separate strategies at some point over the course of his tenure on the show, we have to credit the attached photo here as almost a crowning achievement of all of it and then some. This is maybe one of the few Twitter teases that we’ve ever openly laughed at, especially when we saw what the attached caption for it was:
“It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.”
Just as all “Castle” fans are aware, it is this swing set that has been a fixture for a pair of key moments for the Beckett character now, with the most-recent one coming when Rick got on one knee and proposed during the season 5 finale. We’re still waiting on the answer to that question, but regardless of if she says yes, she may still not have a chance to see that swing anytime soon. Why’s that? She is thinking about taking an ambitious new job in Washington DC that would able her to take on much more challenging cases.
What do you think about this photo, especially when it comes to how you compare it to some of the other great TV teases that we have seen over the years? If you want to also take a quick look at Lisa Edelstein on the show’s set alongside Nathan Fillion, just be sure to visit the link here.

Let’s look at this logically: In Season 5 there were numerous episodes
showing the building love and trust between Caskett — culminating in
“Still”, a retrospective of 5 seasons of “Castle” and ending with “I love
you’s” and the whole cast knowing of their love for each other. To
blow all that away with a weird job in an organization no one has heard
of — there is just no way that can happen and keep the audience.
Because Marlowe et all CAN write an episode that will end her ties with
the 12th doesn’t mean he SHOULD or WILL. All will and has to be well —
they will get engaged and then spend the rest of the season with their
normal ups and downs hopefully culminating with a wedding in Ep 24 and a
honeymoon for the hiatus. That would hold me for Season 7!!

I’m glad to see someone who looks at the big picture of the show. Caskett makes this show. Without them, at the very least, working TOGETHER what do you have? – Just another ordinary show that gets canned after one season. Personally, I don’t go for all the teasing Marlowe is doing. Those teaser pics we saw a few days ago were not actual scenes. You could see the cameras and one pic had the swing chain running right across their locked lips. Those pics would never appear in the final cut. I have to wonder why they were leaked so soon after they started filming? And the this twit of the swing! I think that this this is getting way out of hand. I love the show but the teasing is getting at best unprofessional and at worst downright – juvenile!

Hi L.E. My understanding is that those pics were taken by someone who was either an extra or someone who found out where the shoot was and took their own pics — the chains and cameras and other lighting stuff was in the way. I can’t believe a show that has a “tight” budget would use all that crew and actors and TIME (an irreplaceable resource) just to mislead their greatest fans. I think someone just lucked out and we are the beneficiaries.
