‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Romance scoop for Lana Parrilla’s Regina!
If there is one thing that many fans of “Once Upon a Time” wish for these days, it is that Regina would actually find some sort of comfort in her life beyond Henry … and of course tormenting the good people of Storybrooke. She had it long before Emma Swan showed up on the screen with her beloved stable boy, but following his death / re-death in season 2, what little was left of her heart began to disappear.
Luckily, the following news may have many Evil Regals out there cheering about happily ever afters. Speaking to TVLine about the upcoming third season, executive producer Adam Horowitz shared recently what is a rather cryptic comment about the Regina character:
“We may find out that perhaps, just perhaps, there is a special someone out there for Regina.”
So if Regina was more or less the start of a “Once Upon a Time” version of “The Bachelorette,” who would some of her choices be? You have to put Captain Hook on the list; while it would be somewhat strange considering his past, the two are stuck on a boat together right now without any other single men. Meanwhile, we know that Giancarlo Esposito is returning at least briefly, and we know that Sidney Glass and his fairy-tale counterparts were certainly in love with her.
So this is where you come in. Who do you want to see Regina hook up with: Hook, Sidney, one of the new characters that we already know about, or someone else entirely? It will be another male character…there won’t be Swan Queen…there is no reason to turn two previously straight characters gay because if that is the case I am all in favor of Charming Hook. The creators of the show I believe will introduce LGBT character in the future. Gay shouldn’t become the new token character.

But Emma saves a lot of people. She sees Regina as Henry’s adoptive mother whom he loves so she has to at least tolerate her and that’s it.

I think Regina’s true love should be the Frog Prince (new charcter). Makes perfect sense, they are both flawed and need someone to love them beyond those flaws..in other words they need true love.

Geez. You know, I think maybe it’s not going to be Emma just for the sake that is a family program, in a family channel. And this kind of relationship is still an issue (although the things are changing, thank God).
But, seriously: all the episodes, and scenes, and exchange of looks, and Emma always saving her, and all that thing of Daniel saying “Then love again”… is just freaking frustrating, because CLEARLY leads to Emma. But again, it can’t be her.
It’s the only thing that makes sense, but can’t happen. So, damn.
Unless this “GUY” happens to be just like Emma, and Regina (who, in my opinion, has a thing for Emma. Cause I doubt she hates her) will fall in love.

Emma for sure. Emma’s saved Regina numerous times now, serving as Regina’s personal Savior so to speak (and Regina’s risked her own life to save Emma as well). They already share a bond through Henry. Emma’s the only person who sees her as Regina, not as the Evil Queen. Emma’s been Regina’s biggest supporter on her path to redemption. They’ve made magic together twice (first with the hat, then to stop the supposedly unstoppable trigger, saving the entire town)–and time and again this show has emphasized that “True Love is magic.” I honestly can’t see anyone being a better match for Regina than Emma.

I used to not be so hopeful, but especially after the season 2 finale, I feel like they’re either blatantly leading the SQ shippers on, or Swan Queen is endgame. In any case, I ship Emma/Regina.
And, to the person who said they hate each other, I can’t find the quote right now but Lana has said she plays Regina with a care for Emma deep down inside. Vague, but at least we know on Regina’s end, it isn’t outright hatred.

One more thing, I’m sorry I dont get the whole Emma and Regina thing as they have not shown attraction towards each other ever. Regina tried to kill her and her family countless times before and the only connection they have is Henry. Not to mention the fact that Emma was gonna leave her in the finale to die (just like Hook by the way) to save themselves.
Regina deserves someone who puts her first. The prospect of a new guy coming in for her is really exciting and I can’t wait to find out who he is or which fairytale character he’s going to be. I’m also ok if it’s a person from this world.

Adam said there’s “someone somewhere out there” for Regina. That either suggests someone new or someone far from her, not in the ship with them or maybe someone they will meet in Neverland. Thankfully that doesn’t suggest neither Hook nor Emma (as those two belong together).
Personally I’d love a new guy for her.

When did Regina become a piece of meat???….I’ll admit I’m no “Evil Regal” but I love the character…she’s written beautifully and so complex… I love this show, I’ve loved it since the get go …and I ‘really’ watch it…I called Bae being Henry’s dad…I called Red being the wolf…I even called August and Graham’s identities . I also called Hook being a love interest for Emma the minute Milah’s heart was crushed by a jealous ex…but maybe I’m wrong. Now all of a sudden there are a bunch of HQ shippers( I’m aware that their have been some from the get go I check out all Regina’s ships (but he’s been shipped with Aurora hard since the get go too ) but I see your online foot print..I see you hassling the creators threatening to stop watching…saying how perfect your ship is…I’ve checked out your twitter feeds…I’ve seen you hating on Hook since the get go…I see you ‘shipping Emma and Neal’ hard…I see your one thread on fan forum that was actually a ‘frenimies’ thread and then the couple one formed by a handle named ‘Baelfire’ Your allowed to multship but I’m sorry I love Regina too much to ship her with someone because a bunch of people want Hook out of the way of Swan Thief…Here’s the thing you can ship HQ if you want … and you’re allowed to ship her with him just because he’s hot…or to keep him away from Emma…but lets call a spade a spade,,,Regina’s largest ship is with Emma and at least they just want her happiness! Heck there are more fics for Regina and David than for Hooked Queen …and I’ve read them some of them are good…I’ve even looked at a lot of the HQ ones just to see and all off them pretty much have Emma and Neal together or they are totally OOC……..mmmmmmmmmmm…really makes me think! I hope the show brings on someone new for her…I’d love to see a positively developed relationship …when she’s ready for it!

I don’t think Regina is ready for a romantic relationship especially not for this coming season but I would like her to be with some who has seen her for all her flaws, she her when she is selfless, knows and accepts the bad that she has done. Accepts her as she is, as Regina. Not just the Evil Queen or the facade she put on as the mayor, but just Regina The only person who fits that description is Emma Swan. Yes, the savior. A person who gets her, a person who has been through the same things, a person who is perfectly matched that has gone through the stages of resentment, to understanding, to friendship, and then to love. That is a romance I would want for my favorite character and not some shoddy same old same old just for the sake of it or because so and so is “hot” or any available body that just happens to be male.
