‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: The ‘Blackwater’ director debate

Game of ThronesSo has “Game of Thrones” found a way to bring back one of their best directors for another episode?

Earlier this week, there was a report that first came out via Empire Online that Neil Marshall, otherwise known as the director of the classic episode “Blackwater” along with the movie “The Descent,” had signed on to helm what would be the fourth-season finale for the HBO hit. Marshall’s name has a bit of a legendary air about it, given that he did step in to do the pivotal season 2 installment with very little time to prepare and quite a bit of content to happen. Luckily, he managed to work hard and knock it out of the park.

However, there is also some conflicting information suggesting that this may not be a done deal yet. According to Winter Is Coming, the initial report surrounding Marshall’s involvement is not entirely accurate, so there may be some sort of twist or other details coming up. (Maybe, for example, he is directing the last episode that is filmed, which does not have to be the finale given how productions do tend to change things up to accommodate various schedules.)

Regardless of what is going on here, we’ll have an update soon enough.

What do you think: Should Marshall come back for this episode, especially to see what sort of magic that he can create with an episode if given a little more time?
