‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 2 preview: A Yvonne Strahovski; and Deb ‘confesses’?

While “Dexter” did not offer so much as a stringent preview for next week’s new episode following the season 8 premiere on Sunday night, it did do something else rather important: Provide a welcomed tease as to what is going to come up over the rest of the season. There are many highlights from this clip, but we’re going to divide some of the best ones here into parts.

1. Evelyn Vogel continues to get into Dexter’s head – Is Evelyn really a friend of Dexter’s, or an enemy? While she could work to have him turned in at almost any moment, she instead seems to be trying to comfort him. She realizes that he is in an extremely vulnerable position, and can therefore serve as some sort of bizarre mother figure to him as he works to figure out all of the bizarre hurdles that are coming up in his life. But can she really be trusted? She clearly has her own motives for being around, and this will be revealed as the season progresses.

2. Deb is going to continue to be unhappy – Dexter is not going to leave her alone, either. If you thought the tension so far was bad, you really have not seen anything yet.

3. Hannah McKay returns! – We don’t know quite yet what Yvonne Strahovski’s character wants, but she is going to return at some point before the season’s end for an arc that could cause even more damage to the Dexter / Deb relationship, if that is even possible.

4. Deb confesses – To something. This could just be a major tease, but it does not look good.
