‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: When will the end be here for Michael C. Hall and the cast?
When it comes to us as diehard fans of “Dexter,” we are likely going to be busting out our hankies for the series finale in September. As for what date, we don’t know yet; depending on whether or not Showtime decides that they want to take a week off for Labor Day Weekend (when there are fewer people watching TV than usual), it could be either the 15th or the 22nd.
As for when the cast and crew are going to be packing it up and saying their teary goodbyes, we now have some sort of tentative answer on that. According to show site Dexter Daily, the date that production will end for the series is on July 9. Considering that production is currently shooting the tenth episode of the year, that seems about right.
As for what is happening in these later episodes, your guess is ultimately as good as ours. Production had a tight lid on events early in the season, and at this point, these secrets are being locked away in a vault. The last thing Showtime wants is for anything revealing to get out about the show, since at that point the entire series is ultimately ruined. We do expect there to be one final standoff as Dexter fights to protect his secret, as there are more people out there than ever (Deb, Hannah, possibly Evelyn Vogel) with knowledge as to who he really is and what sort of terribleness he is capable of.
