‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Jenna-Louise Coleman pours the praise on Matt Smith
Even though Matt Smith is leaving “Doctor Who” prior to the start of the eighth season, Jenna-Louise Coleman does not seem to be bitter at all about losing a man who she just started to work with last year as his Companion. As a matter of fact, she has wonderful things to say about him.
Speaking out about the man she has just lost from the show in a brand-new interview, Coleman (who may be off trying to console Richard Madden after a certain SPOILER ALERT tragic event on “Game of Thrones”) explained that working within the realm of the TARDIS will never quite be the same for her again:
“I am going to really miss him. It is sad. He is a very, very special man, wonderful in so many ways. People on set come up to me and say, ‘He is such a wonderful man’ and he truly is. He is very talented.
“We had such a great chemistry. He’s a great guy to work with. It’s been great working with Matt and I’m so proud of him. We will definitely keep in touch.”
We reported earlier this week that Coleman is not actively involved in the search for the next Doctor, and really has no idea just who she is going to be working with in the future. Like anyone else, we’re sure that she has a list of preferences somewhere, but there is really no need to ever write them out in the event that your wishes don’t come true.
The “Doctor Who” Christmas special, the last with Smith, will start taping in just a few months. Meanwhile, you can hear the latest casting rumors for the 12th Doctor just by heading on over to the link here.
