NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 1, episode 19 review: The tower of power

RevolutionIn just one week, “Revolution” will finally be at an end after 20 episodes, and it will hopefully be at that point that we finally start to get more of an understanding as to what exactly is going on with this show. At times, it has felt like almost every episode has been a battle of sorts between Miles and Monroe, and it ultimately (again) felt like there was going to be some sort of “final showdown.” Then, it really didn’t happen this week. (Don’t you love waiting? Start cursing at your TV sets now.)

As for the mystery of level 12, it was a pretty intriguing one. The very people that Rachel left behind, and presumed dead for so many years, were not only still alive, but protecting the most-powerful floor of the Tower so that it would be preserved for generations.

This turned into a moral dilemma: Do these people take the risk of their own lives in order to help people, or go about selfishly protecting something that they at this point hold sacred? Just when it seemed like Aaron was so close to getting the power back on, a new revelation came out. If the power goes back on, there is a very tiny chance the world gets set on fire.

While all of this was going on, and Monroe was somewhat preoccupied, Neville began to conspire a plot of his own in order to try and take down his leader. We don’t know how this is going to work just yet, but Miles could beat him to the punch, anyway. We have to be honest that with the whole tower story going on, this feels like too much of a non-factor.

As rough as we have been on “Revolution” this season (which is admittedly pretty rough), we do genuinely believe that the show has set itself up well for a pretty fantastic finale next week. All we have to do is wait and see what happens next.

What was your take on “Revolution” this week, and do you feel like this show is really moving somewhere great now that the finale is almost here? If you want to check out an early look when it comes to season 2, all you have to do is click here.
