‘The Originals’: Videos on the way for Joseph Morgan – ‘Vampire Diaries’ spin-off

Good news for those of you who are excited to see what’s coming up for the “Vampire Diaries” spin-off series “The Originals”: The CW has already sunk its teeth into more than just the promotional photos that we talked about a little bit earlier on in the week.

In a new post on his Twitter account, Joseph Morgan confirmed that there was also some promo videos filmed for the show, which we’re guessing are just of the characters in motion. There are no scripts yet for the actual show, so don’t sit here and assume that there are somehow some scenes out there that are new footage to help get “The Originals” promoted. Production on the show itself will probably start around July.

When it comes to promoting this show from a mere marketing perspective, we imagine that it could prove to be a little more problematic than you would at first assume. “The Originals” is a series that has a build-in audience, but for whatever reason (one that we don’t personally agree with), The CW is sticking it on Tuesday nights. Not only that, but this time-slot is super-scary with “NCIS,” ABC’s new “Agents of SHIELD,” and the potential young female demo competition via “Pretty Little Liars” in the winter months. The marketers have to do everything in their power to make this show as scary-in-a-good-way as they possibly can. Luckily, you do have some veterans already on board in Morgan, Claire Holt, Daniel Gillies, and Phoebe Tonkin.
