‘Dexter’ season 8: First promotional photo of Micheal C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter
You had to assume that both Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter were going to be present in the first promotional photo for “Dexter” season 8, mostly because they are, by all intensive purposes now, forced to deal with this madness together. As you likely saw in the new official trailer for the show released yesterday, Jennifer Carpenter’s character is in a state of emotional disarray after shooting LaGuerta: She’s dating dangerous men, snorting various drugs, and getting herself brought in by the police. Not only that, but her decision to utter random swear words is no longer nearly as entertaining as it used to be.
Just in this one photo, you can really see every single emotion written on Carpenter’s face. She looks ready to plunge that knife straight into Dexter’s heart, while Michael C. Hall has that sort of “do what you gotta do” look on his face that we saw in the finale. Is he really going to end up on a table like this? Our answer is “doubtful.” These images are just to create shock and awe, and not adequately portray reality for the characters.
With that being said, Deb may be more open to killing Dex than she ever was before (or possibly exposing his late night activities), and if it happens, we can only hope that it is done in a way that the audience can really get behind. We want to see Dexter go out in a blaze of glory, especially since there is no way we can imagine this man really having a happy ending at all.
What do you think about this photo, and do you think that Deb is going to be the one to take Dexter down? If you do want to check out that aforementioned trailer, the best way to do so is over at the link here.
