ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2, episode 20 review: Has Aiden officially lost it?
Well, so much for Aiden being an international man of mystery … and someone who really knows how to calm himself. Basically, this episode of “Revenge” season 2 could have very well be entitled “how to watch a skilled assassin completely fall apart at the seams.”
The first thing that we admittedly feel contributed to the cause this week was having to watch Emily Thorne, the woman he has loved for many years, become engaged to another man in Daniel Grayson, even if it was a stunt that was a part of another plan. Then, he watched his world at Daniel’s company completely fall apart, and he was desperate to take the family down a notch by emptying out their charity account.
Unfortunately, that didn’t exactly work out for him. Instead, his move basically caused the Initiative to start up a blackout through the better part of the New York area, which means the finale next week will be kicking things off in a very dark, difficult place.
Oh, and we also have to mention the major shocker this week when it came to Takeda: The man responsible for helping both Aiden and Emily go about their training ended up being a traitor, and in an epic duel to the death where Aiden took him down with a sword. Epic, no? It was really his only major victory of the episode, so he has to celebrate something.
Elsewhere this week, we saw Victoria continue to try and hunt down her son, and two unlikely allies in Jack and Ashley team up. There are still many questions that need to be answered here, and hopefully we will see more of that soon.
