‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 finale spoilers: Shonda Rhimes and a big-time secret

“Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 will be at an end soon, and we know already that this show has quite a habit of dropping some pretty enormous bombs on the audience. For a prime example of this, just look at what happened with the plane crash last year, or the shooting a few years prior to that. Shonda Rhimes loves to give viewers a reason to talk about her show for some time, in particular in the weeks building up to the start of the new season.

So how secret was one revelation during this episode? Based on what the executive producer tweeted out this week, there was one part of the episode so hush-hush that it was not even a part of the actual script:

“On set at Grey’s. A piece of this scene was so top-secret that I had to whisper it to the director instead of writing it in the script.”

Of course, hearing this does make us wonder especially how in the world the actors were able to respond to something that they were not prepared for. Then again, these people are professionals, and really should know how to brace themselves for just about anything based on who it is that they are working for. (Let’s just hope that all of them are going to continue working for her for a while, since death also seems to frequently visit the world of this Seattle hospital during finales.)
