‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: Josh Charles teases Will, Alicia’s future
In looking at Sunday night’s season finale for “The Good Wife,” there are really two separate ways that you can view it. From one standpoint, Alicia decided to help Cary start up a new firm which closes the door on her potential relationship with Will, as the two are not even going to be spending any time together except as professional rivals. However, there is also another interesting way to look at this (as mentioned in our earlier review) in that with them apart, business may no longer be a way of them being together.
So how does Josh Charles see this dynamic unfolding moving forward? Speaking per TVLine, the actor first of all explains why the two going their separate ways professionally may be a good thing for romantic prospects down the road:
“There are a lot of reasons why these two probably shouldn’t be together, and one of the big reasons is he’s her boss … And you take that element out of it and… while I don’t think it necessarily means they’re going to immediately end up together or anything, it takes out one obstacle. Alicia is not going to be working under Will.”
However, Charles is also keenly aware of the fact that their relationship now as competitors in the business world could end up being in many ways quite the game-changer:
“It’s going to be interesting to see them be competitors. I think it’s going to bring out a lot of great conflict, both for the show and those two characters.”
For now, though, you have to remember that Alicia is with Peter, and there is no sign that this will change right away during season 5 … regardless of how badly some people may want it.
