‘Bones’ season 8, episode 22 review: Booth deals with ‘dancers’ and so much more

BonesAfter seeing so many episodes of “Bones” this season that have been concentrated on either Brennan, Christine, or even Sweets, we rather enjoyed seeing Booth get some extra time in the spotlight courtesy of something that he has not often dealt with: his complicated past with his mother.

So could the character move forward? Well, we don’t know if “yes” is really the best way to answer this complicated question. Booth’s mom showed up completely out of the blue this week with desires and dreams to move forward with her life in a big way, with there constantly being some conversation thrown in there about whether or not Booth would be there for her to see it happen. We really think that Booth went much further than he really had to in order to make someone feel better who has not really done a lot for him as of late, and we’re not sure that everyone would have done the same in his situation. Nonetheless, this was a story that “Bones” needed to tell, and we’re sure some out there like his presence at the wedding.

Moving on, the “Magic Mike”-themed case here was just thoroughly entertaining. Sure, it was a pretty run-of-the-mill episode when it comes to there being a victim, a crime, and a guilty party, but we’re continually surprised about the various ways in which the show manages to stay creative. We’re actually just as shocked as anything that this story managed to not only fit into an episode entitled “The Party in the Pants,” but actually work as well.
