‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: See Lea Michele back with Cory Monteith, original New Directions
It’s probably the worst-kept secret at this point that Rachel Berry is auditioning for her role in “Funny Girl” with the original members of New Directions in tow, but finally after many teasers, we have a full photo to share of the group together again.
Fox has released the attached image here from “Sweet Dreams,” the 19th episode of “Glee” season 4 to air next week. Lea Michele’s character is of course standing in front of the group here, but we have to admit that we are a little torn on the outfit. From one standpoint, she clearly wants to stand out as the “star” of the group in order to get extra attention from the show producers, but it also has a bizarre sort of symbolism that she has moved on while all of the other members of the original New Directions have not changed at all. (We’re surely reading much more into this, though, than was intended. It’s really just a group of friends coming together to support a budding star.)
Will this sort of daring take on “Don’t Stop Believin'” really win the producers over? We don’t think Rachel will get an answer right away, even if she pulls out all of the stops. This may be a story that develops leading up to the season finale, though we would be singing a very sad song to ourselves if we do not know one way or another at the end of the finale.
We’ve heard two different arguments about whether or not Rachel should get the gig: some want her dreams to come true immediately, whereas some others want to see her work a little bit harder before she gets there.
What do you think about this photo, and do you think that we are actually going to see Rachel end up getting the part? If you want to watch a video preview for Thursday night’s new episode, be sure to visit the link here.

I do not know if glee people read these comments or not and frankly and let’s face it most people comment because they have an agenda based on what their vision of the show is. I am not immune to this either but here is my objective opinion anyway. Glee was an interesting show the first season because it used music as the backdrop to much more complicated social satire that used adults far more and painted a realistic vision masked in comedy. The character I thought was the most important was Finn and the reasons were the acting ability of Cory Monteith and his broader acting style that had him play the dean martin role to the jerry lewis characters. Finn giving up his dream of performing has made this show a depressing shell of its former self because a musical show is only as good as the actor selling it. Neil Patrick Harris knew the importance of Finn and Stevie Nicks flat out stated she started watching the show because of Jessies girl. I guess what I am saying is that the whole concept of the show was to show how the arts can transform a life and Finn is the best example of that period. Cory put his heart and soul into that character and to have the showrunner tell him point blank your role is over in his mind must have been a devastating blow to the actor’s psyche. The end of the first season the cast was on Oprah and Ryan Murphy choose to start talking about Lea Michele and I just face palmed because the character that was by far the most interesting to me was Cory Monteith and I loved the fact that his voice was so unique and grew as the show grew and that is the compelling story of glee. Glee has become stunt casting heaven and skewed to the people who the show has left as an audience and abandoned this guy. My hope is that other producers and directors in hollywood understand the professional way Cory handled being given a lousy storyline after season one in order to prop up Ryan’s pets. The last point is simply this the showrunner himself stated people did not think this was a musical show and that was the secret to its success the balance between good acting and songs that mattered sadly that is gone now and what is left is nothing. If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound, this can be said of glee I will miss the character that was introduced in the pilot Finn and his journey good luck Cory.

Rachel is dressed different from the others because she is imagining the others are there with her and she is remembering them as they were back at the beginning. They are there to support her only in her imagination, but there is supposed to be a real phone call with Rachel and Finn that should be great!!
I would like to see her get the part right away. Although I don’t think she will get it that easily, but I do think we will at least know in the finale. I think that gives them next season to concentrate on what doing the show is actually like.(rehersals, dance practice, vocal practice, etc.)
I would love to see Rachel get to meet the original Fanny Brice (Barbra Streisand) if she does get the part!!
