‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Jessica Sanchez, Burnell Taylor

American IdolWe’re going to start this “American Idol” notes story with something that you may have already heard about a little earlier in the day: after a couple of years of dating, Adam Lambert and his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen are no more. The singer confirmed the rumored split in an interview with South Florida Gay News, and he chose to try to look at the whole situation in as positive a light as he could:

“It’s been kind of on its way out in the last couple of months … Sauli and I remain really good friends, and I know it’s a cliché thing to say. But it’s totally true. I just gave him a coffee and bagel earlier today. He’s a great person and we’ve had an amazing couple of years together. Things have just run their course.”

Both Adam and Sauli have been very busy lately, as the season 8 alum has been taking part in his “We Are Glamily” world tour, and Sauli is working on a new show on Finnish TV. (One of his original claims to fame was winning the country’s version of “Big Brother.”) We don’t really want to spend much time diving into someone’s personal life her, but we do hope that the two parties are happy and able to move forward with positivity.

As for Burnell… – We will share the following quote about Burnell Taylor’s feelings for his fellow season 12 contestant Amber Holcomb, mostly because, like Adam, he chose to openly share this information in a conference call Friday:

“I don’t think she knew that was coming. I don’t think nobody knew that was coming. I really like Amber [and] she really likes me. We like each other; we’re just learning more about each other right now. We’re not taking it too fast because we’re both still young. We’re just taking our time. As far as us liking each other? We really like each other.”

Are these two going to become an item soon? Well, we’ll wait for Amber to say something publicly first. For now, though, we can at least say that they will have plenty of time to bond while out on the show’s annual summer tour.

A few more of Jessica Sanchez’s “Glee” thoughts – We’ll close here with some comments that don’t have much to do at all with relationships, as instead Jessica Sanchez chatted a little bit with Just Jared Jr. recently about her upcoming two-episode stint on “Glee.” While we knew most of this before, there is confirmation in here that Jessica’s part is going to not be someone who has a mean bone in her body:

“They said I’m going to be a diva, powerhouse singer, but more like the sweet type. And I guess that’s more true to me. I’m not really like the mean girl, so it’s going to be easier on me.”
