ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: New scoop on James’ return

Are you ready to see a familiar face back in the “Scandal” fold? Well, we hope so, since on Thursday night’s new episode we are going to be seeing James re-enter the picture as Cyrus’ other half for the first time since the show jumped forward in time in a big ten months. Considering just how much has transpired since that time, it is pretty safe to say that these two characters have quite a bit of ground to explore moving forward.

So how will the two handle the current situation? We’re going to see James kick Cyrus out of the house for some of his actions, and in a new interview with TVLine, the man behind the former character in Dan Bucatinsky had the following to say:

“In this week’s episode, you will see that we are very much a married couple dealing with a bump in the road. The aftermath of Defiance has had an impact on this relationship. You’ll watch them deal with this conflict in the same way a real married couple would.”

The actor also explained a little bit about just what the current emotional state is for the pair, who still do have a pretty deep connection even if they are not spending every waking moment of their lives together:

“On the one hand, there’s something unbelievably normal about their working-couple marriage, and it’s irrelevant that we’re both men. On the other hand, we’ve certainly been pushed to limits that not every couple in America’s had to deal with. Whether testifying against your spouse or lying under oath to protect your spouse, those are things that are pretty heightened.”
