‘The Walking Dead’ season 4: How the latest promotion impacts ‘Once Upon a Time’

The Walking DeadAs we near the beginning of production for “The Walking Dead” season 4, we have some more news coming out that could potentially impact the future of more than just this show.

Sources have confirmed that Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Emily Kinney (Beth), and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) have each been handed promotions to series regular for the new season. These three actors join David Morrissey as the newest additions to the cast full-time. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they will appear in every episode, but it does suggest that they will have a significant role in the story.

What is also interesting here is that Martin-Green’s promotion effectively means that she is likely not going to have as great of a role in the upcoming third season of “Once Upon a Time.” The actress has been recurring as of late on the hit ABC series as Tamara, the significant other to Michael Raymond-James’ character of Neal Cassady, and is being set up as the potential Big Bad for the final few episodes. It’s been an interesting several weeks for the ABC drama, as a number of its secondary characters, including Meghan Ory (Red) and Jamie Chung (Mulan), have signed on to appear in other pilots. When you have a show with this many characters, it’s understandable that there will be a few actors who end up wanting some more time elsewhere. Of course, in Martin-Green’s case she filmed her previous “Walking Dead” arc before ever stepping foot into Storybrooke.

Do you like some of these larger additions to “The Walking Dead” cast, and do you think any of them will actually survive beyond season 4? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also check out Norman Reedus’ thoughts on the upcoming season here.
