‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: Norman Reedus expects worse from The Governor

The Walking DeadIf you think back to the aggressive marketing campaign for “The Walking Dead” season 3, much of it in some ways was structured around the idea of us seeing a sort of epic showdown unfold between Rick and The Governor at some point near the finale; however, that really did not happen in the way in which some were expecting. While there were clearly still moments between the worlds of Woodbury and the prison, this may have been one of the reasons that some felt a little let down with Sunday night’s season 3 finale.

The silver lining here? Thanks to the fact that The Governor is still alive (and David Morrissey is a series regular for season 4), we have the potential to see some even more terrible stuff unfold from him in the future that really feels earned, rather than something that is forced.

When asked in an interview with the Wall Street Journal about whether or not he was surprised to see that The Governor survived the finale, here is what Norman Reedus (Daryl) had to say:

“No, because I don’t think he’s reached his full Governorism yet, you know? I mean, the comic book villain is like the most hated comic-book villain, above the Joker. The biggest one ever. So I think he’s going to get meaner.”

So there you have it: for those of you who feel like for whatever reason that the Governor was not horrible enough the first time around, he is going to be coming back with a vengeance on the show very soon.

What do you think: will we see a much more terrible form of The Governor on “The Walking Dead” moving forward? If you want to know more scoop on some possible Michonne flashbacks on a fourth season, you can do so over at the link here.
