ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5, episode 19 preview: Sneak peeks from ‘The Lives of Others’
If you are a big-time fan of “Castle,” then odds are that you are already probably very familiar with the fact that Sunday night marks the landmark 100th episode for the show. This is going to be an installment that is in many ways stuffed full of all sorts of things, whether it be action, comedy, and of course a little bit of a intrigue. Based on the sneak peeks below, it also looks as though the Alfred Hitchcock references are going to happen early and often.
While Castle is recuperating from a leg injury at his home, he ends up receiving a “gift” from Alexis in a set of binoculars … which is something that she really just did as a joke. However, who in their right mind actually thought the guy would start to use them? Nathan Fillion’s character gets extremely bored, and starts to check out what some of the people who live in the same area as him are up to. This leads to him following what was in many ways a scene perfectly befitting a soap opera: there was a woman that he saw cheating with another man, and she tried to hide it when her presumed husband came home. However, the secret love interest forgot one key part of his ensemble in his hat, and this is where things get ugly.
While Castle does not see the scorned man kill his supposed love with a knife, he certainly sees enough to give off that impression, and he promptly calls Beckett.
There is another murder being investigated this week, and this one is something that there is some tangible video evidence of: an IRS agent is killed in an alley by someone who clearly knew what they were doing. We have a feeling that the “Castle” writers surely knew what they were doing in airing this episode at this time of year, as some people are still freaking out over taxes.
