ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 reaction: Scott Foley reflects on Jake’s [spoiler]
Thursday night’s new episode of “Scandal” was a pretty shocking one, to say the least; not only did we have an opportunity to see what happened with Hollis Doyle and his daughter (which was surely shocking, to say the least), but it was also revealed yet again that Jake is not exactly who he is professing himself to be to either Fitz or to Olivia.
But while go so far as to frame the director of the CIA as the mole? It was a drastic move, and it made for the final few seconds of the season being some of the most shocking yet. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Foley spoke out a little bit on this subject, but he raised just as many questions as he did answers to what is already out there:
“Jake has an agenda that we’re not necessarily privy to yet. Fitz needs a mole and he came to Jake to ask him to help with this and it seems to Jake that Osborne was the right person to frame. I don’t know if we’re going to find out if he was the mole or not but for right now it puts Fitz’s mind at ease and puts Jake even more so in Fitz’s good graces.”
Foley also adds that the show is currently shooting its 20th episode of the season, and we are still waiting for some answers as to who Jake is and what his intentions really are. He said that Olivia is not going to find out anything deeper about him right away, and that he has a feeling that Fitz is not going to react very well when he learns just some of what has been going on here.
What do you think could be motivating Jake right now? We want to hear some of your thoughts below, and you can also read our full review of Thursday night’s “Scandal” by heading on over to the link here.

Based on the fast pace of Scandal, I think this thing with Jake is moving a little slow, but it may be necessary to come to an explosive climax. Also, as strong and intense as the relationship has been portrayed between Fitz and Olivia thus far in the show, the show would be ruined if it just faded away. True love is something people want to believe in no matter how complicated it continues to be…it should never end. It’s the excitement of the show along with all the other great storylines each week.

I don’t think Jake is the mole. I think he maybe a fixer for the military, like Fitz is for the country and Olivia for everyone else. Olivia will set herself for a big disappointment listening to her head; her gut told her something isn’t quite right with Jake. I told you can’t put a bandage (Jake) on it. I know she would like to move on but, she has to get some closure with Fitz. Before you bring another person into an unsolved relationship spells trouble out the gate.
