‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Kunal Nayyar talks Raj, Lucy, and more

For everyone who has long felt that Raj is the most under-appreciated character on “The Big Bang Theory” (us included), then odds are that you are probably thrilled about the fact that he seems to now have a new love interest in Lucy. Are the two really meant to be? It is probably still too soon to say that, as there hasn’t even been enough courage between the two of them yet to make a move. However, this is certainly far better than the character talking to the woman inside of iPhone or fantasizing about Bernadette.

It is on this note that Kunal Nayyar speaks to E! News, as he more than anything else sounds relieved to just have something different going on in his character’s life for a change:

“He’s always been the third wheel in his friends’ relationships, so it’s really good to see him get a real love interest [with Lucy].”

So when will we learn if this turns into anything more? In all likelihood, it will be by the time the season finale rolls around in May, given that they want to give Raj fans something pretty significant worth looking forward to while everything else is going on when it comes to the other couples.

Speaking of this subject, Nayyar also chimed in on the current evolution of Sheldon and Amy, though while saying that it would probably be season 10 before these two engage in what Jim Parsons’ character would refer to as “coitus”:

“I enjoy the status quo, but I think what’s happening is they are getting more and more attached to each other.”
