‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’: Omarosa plans to sue La Toya Jackson
From the boardroom to the courtroom? That seems to be the path right now for Omarosa and La Toya Jackson following some pretty heated discussions on “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice” this season.
In an interview with Howard Stern this week, the notorious villain from the Donald Trump series, who has managed to survive a few weeks due to being inexplicably not being brought back to the boardroom, announced that she is going to sue Michael Jackson’s sister over a series of comments she made about her late fiance Michael Clarke Duncan. Specifically, La Toya said on the show that Omarosa probably caused the actor to have a hard attack, and she also quipped that she probably “pulled the plug” on him in the hospital.
While Stern contends that some of the claims made by La Toya are not actionable, Omarosa responded that they are since she made the original comments back when the show taped in October, and she has since repeated them multiple times on various talk shows without a retraction. She proclaims this to be a blatant disregard for the truth, and she is looking specifically for damages related to emotional distress.
So does she have a case? Ultimately, it’s largely going to come down to a judge’s interpretation of context, and whether or not Jackson can make a compelling argument that she was clearly joking when she said these remarks, and does not sincerely believe that Omarosa had anything to do with Duncan’s death. Regardless of what happens, this shoul be interesting to watch.
