‘The Following’ episode 10 preview: The hunt for Claire intensifies
If there was one word right now that we would use to describe Monday night’s all-new episode of “The Following,” it would certainly be “intense.” After all, we are inching ever closer to getting to see if Ryan Hardy can really stop Joe Carroll and his minions once and for all, or if we are about to witness the recent tradition of the FBI failing at everything all over again.
Fox is advertising this week as a game-changer, as we see both the good and evil camps in a race to claim Claire, who has unfortunately been constantly at risk more than just about everyone else all season long. In addition to that, we also of course have the aftermath of the shocking death of Paul last week, and what this means moving forward when it comes to Emma (fresh off of a very weird decision) and even Joe himself:
“After discovering Claire’s location, Joe sends two followers to capture her, but Ryan may be one step ahead. Meanwhile, Jacob struggles with recent decisions causing his reunion with Emma to be less than ideal. Also, a relationship from Ryan’s past plays a significant role in his future.”
There are only six more episodes left this season, and it seems inevitable that we would want to ask the question now as to what happens next. The show has already been renewed for a second go-around, so do you try to wrap up the Joe Carroll story and bring in a new villain? This is a dilemma that other shows like “The Killing” and “Homeland” have faced in the past, and while it is great to have a storyline so compact and intense, it also makes planning for another season rather challenging.
