‘The Walking Dead’ season 3, episode 14: Let’s talk Merle and Michonne
As we inch ever closer to the end of “The Walking Dead” season 3, it is really only inevitable that viewer curiosity is going to be at a high. After all, everyone under the sun wants to know what is going to transpire with some of these characters, including what alliances will form, who will die, and what the basic setup for the show’s upcoming fourth season will be.
One of the most interesting additions to the new season has been seeing the return of Michael Rooker’s Merle, a character that many wrote off after he seemingly disappeared during the first season. He is a man who is never short of an opinion, and this has of course led to more clashes and drama than we can really right about here.
But could we see at some point, possibly even in Sunday night’s new episode, Merle and another opinionated personality in Michonne (Danai Gurira) actually get along? Rooker spoke about the odds of this transpiring in a new interview with “Access Hollywood,” and he had some rather interesting things to say:
“You know what you can expect of Merle? You can expect the unexpected of Merle… and I think that’s what the audiences like… Merle is one of these guys that — he is extremely unpredictable, you’re not sure where’s he’s coming from most of the time and we make it fairly clear in the show his commitment to his brother and his blood and from then on, whatever you get from Merle is hopefully gonna be a surprise and the less you know about Merle, as far as I’m concerned, the better. The more questions you have in regards to my motivations and all this kind of stuff, the better I like it. When you walk away from an episode that I’ve been in and you have more questions than answers – I’ve done my job.”
While Rooker never mentions Michonne’s character by name here, it is pretty easy to interpret this answer to mean that anything can happen.
Are these two “Walking Dead” characters that you are hoping to see spend some more time together? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below, and you can also read some more news when it comes to the character of The Governor by heading on over to the link here.
