‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 17 video: A dramatic Misha Collins, Jensen Acklesby March 16, 2013
Finally, we are just a few short days away from Wednesday night’s “Supernatural” season 8 episode airing on TV, and we couldn’t be happier about it … especially after watching the new sneak peek that you can see below.
For the vast majority of the clip, it’s actually pretty easy to sit there and think that this is one of the most dramatic things in the history of the show. The interrogation of Castiel about the tablets could very well be an effective scene in “The Following,” and it looks like Misha Collins’ character is going to sweep in and tell Sam and Dean a little bit of the truth about what has been going on. Unfortunately for them, Naomi (Amanda Tapping) sweeps in and ruins the party by forcing her angel puppet to lie.
There’s a part of watching this little moment that is heartbreaking, mostly because the Winchesters (Dean especially) seem to be very invested and want to believe in everything that Cas is telling them … and we’re sure that Cas would want the same thing were he in a better state of mind.
Just when you think that this clip is going to end on an extremely dramatic note, the scene does a 180 and ends with a pretty funny line from Cas that reminds us that this is still “Supernatural.” While there are going to be some moments of genuine emotion and heavy drama, they will be balanced out with humor and / or serious butt-kicking. (Since there is none of the latter in this scene, we’ll settle for the former.)
