‘Glee’ season 4, episode 16 preview: Naya Rivera’s Santana confronts Brody
We already told you a little about how Naya Rivera’s “Glee” character of Santana was going to be performing the Paula Abdul hit “Cold Hearted” on Thursday night’s new episode “Feud.” What we didn’t have to share for you until now is the performance as it will look during the episode.
There is one part of this clip that is awkward from the get-go, mostly due to the fact that we really don’t have any context for it at all: who are all of these other women? While you could assume that they are students from NYADA, Santana doesn’t go to the school. What incentive would they have to perform with her, especially since they are likely to have some sort of elitist attitude about working very hard and getting into this school? We may be reading to hard into this, and while we have had no problem suspending belief on “Glee” in the past when it comes to dealing with all sorts of random background performers, this one is a little bit of a stretch.
As for what else is curious about this clip, why is Brody standing there and letting Santana basically accuse him through song of being a terrible human being? Even if some of the allegations are true (which seems to at least be somewhat likely given his stacks of cash), we’re surprised that he is just standing / sitting there and basically taking everything that this relative stranger into his life is throwing at him.
Is Santana’s confrontation going to have an impact on Brody? It seems like it, given the fact that he is going to also perform “How to Be a Heartbreaker” with Rachel a little bit later on during the episode.
