ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: New details emerge from Ryan episode
If you have been waiting to see Detective Ryan play a bigger role in a “Castle” season 5 episode, then you’re in luck: the show’s upcoming 18th installment of the season (which will air two weeks from Monday night) will take a closer look at the character’s past, and also give us an opportunity to see what has to be one of the stranger deaths that has ever occurred on the show in its history.
Let’s start off here with the obvious and the easy to discern: this episode is going to be entitled “The Wild Rover,” and SpoilerTV gave us the official synopsis recently of just what we can expect to see unfold:
“When a body is discovered in an industrial cake mixer, the murder is traced to an Irish gang and a bar owner named Siobhan O’Doul (Cara Buono); Detective Ryan reveals a history with Siobhan from his time working under cover in narcotics.”
So what is this “history” going to be? We don’t anticipate there being a romantic arc in the present considering that he is now a married man trying to start a family, but who knows just what his past holds? What we find particularly interesting is that neither Castle nor Beckett’s names are mentioned in the synopsis, and the obvious implications of this are pretty clear as to who are the most-important players this week. Given that we already had an episode that revolved more around Esposito, isn’t it time that Seamus Dever had its due? While it may be frustrating to some that these episodes don’t always push forward the story, a great one-off can be something you remember for many months to come more so than a story that inches along a primary plotline.
What do you want to see unfold during this “Castle” season 5 episode? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can get some more scoop on the upcoming season finale over at the link here.

yeah, wants to see some of beckett /castle moment every single episode! a little tease here and there is fun just like the 1st and 2nd seasons! I’m a late comer and just enjoying those episodes! becket pinching his nose or ears, castle adoring her eyes – making her blush, really making the show enjoyable!

There were two Ryan episodes last year: “Kick the Ballistics” and “Till Death Do Us Part”. Seamus was great, and I’m looking forward to another one.
We’ve had THREE Espo-sodes: In Den of Thieves, Esposito’s supposedly dead former partner re-emerges. Then earlier this season he took a young street thief under his wing in one episode, and he had an almost-fling with a sexy celebrity bodyguard in the next. The first was the best, but all were good.

I would like to learn more about Kevin Ryan, but I also feel that the writer’s should incorporate some Caskett moments into every episode, even if they are small. The fans want to see that.

Kevin needs this…his work in support of the other cast members has been stellar, and it’s time to peel the Kevin Ryan onion too. Looking forward to the epi.
