‘The X Factor’ notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, Emblem3, Demi Lovato
We’ve got a ton of “X Factor” stories to cover here in the span of a single article, so we’re not going to waste any time here at all. Let’s just dive right in!
Carly Rose Sonenclar’s new performance – Carly recently made an appearance at a corporate event hosted by Gannett, which is the parent company whose holdings include USA Today, The Arizona Republic, The Tennessean, and many other large newspapers around the country. There have not been too many opportunities for Carly to perform in between school work and hitting the studio, but she played a two song set here consisting of “Rolling in the Deep” along with her famous audition song from this past season in “Feeling Good.”
Check out the videos below courtesy of Carly Rose Online.
Tate’s new cover – Check out the official album for Tate Stevens’ self-titled release, which will be in stores on April 23. In case you’re curious, this is a slightly modified version of the cover that Tate released for his debut radio single “Power of a Love Song,” and it is basically the country artist appealing to his genre’s audience. It may not stand out much when compared to other album covers, but it’s not really intended to.
Check out the official track list for the album below. with the ones marked with a * being ones that Tate co-wrote.
1. I Got This*
2. Can’t Get Nothin’ Done*
3. Ride It Out*
4. Power of a Love Song
5. Sweet
6. That’s Where We Live
7. El Camino
8. That’s How You Get the Girl
9. Ordinary Angels
10. The Last Thing I Do (a cover of a Brooks & Dunn track)
11. Holler If You’re with Me (the song featured in the Pepsi commercial)
What’s a little bit interesting about the tracks listed here is that Sony Nashville decided to line up all of his co-writes at the very start of the album, possibly as a way to make sure that his voice as an artist (and not just his exceptional singing voice) is identified.
Simon Cowell interview – There are a couple of interesting things worth noting from Simon’s recent interview with his old friend Ryan Seacrest on his radio show:
1. Demi Lovato is practically a lock to return to the show for season 3, pending that she wants to.
2. Simon has plenty of confidence in Emblem3 and Fifth Harmony, and specifically claims that the former group’s lead single is a “smash.”
Just in case all of this is not enough for you, be sure to also visit the link here for more on Carly and Demi.

Guys I have sinking feeling that Tate will be a 1/4 hit wonder. They are rushing to get his album out before the new season of X Factor. I am so glad that Carly did not win because her team has a slow thought out plan for her future while Tate ( and this is no fault of his own) will have to work very hard to overcome the Simon Cowell cluster F. I see more effort for E3 and 5H. Makes you wonder what the point of winning is when Tate has to hit certain goals to eligible for his payout. Who would think that Simon would screw him over and not pay. Oh wait what was the name of the winner of season one who never even had her album produced. AMERICA I THINK YOU HAVE BEEN HAD by this show.

Carly is already a worldwide Star her fans worldwide are desperate for new music and concerts in their home countries. The true winner will have the best music sales and a good indicator for music sales is Carly’s social media score just look at her YouTube, Facebook, and twitter numbers! That will give you some idea

Bobby- are you hearing impaired ? Just wondered. No offense. But if you think feeling good is the only song Carly can sing. You must not have heard As long as you love me, somewhere over the rainbow, it will rain etc… She nailed every song.

“Quit your bitching” says Bobby who just bitched about a 13 year old girl. I think we got the memo that xfactor season 2 ended in DECEMBER. We are talking about what they are doing now and in the future. And it’s too damn bad that you can’t change the order of who finished last year. And congrats to Tate for getting $5 million over 5 years. I’m glad Carly didn’t win. People who usually win usually don’t have the big career..look at Melanie Amaro. X factor and Simon Cowell and LA Reid forgot about her she’s not listed as an artist on Epic Records anymore. 5H E3 and Carly will be big stars.

She only sings Feeling Good that the only song she can sing half descent, you teeny boppers just dont know music, this Carly is just overated,I’ve seen her performed with her brother, she sucks and she sang better on the x-factor, but she was predictable…singing another slow song..She needs to grow vocally.. now The 5H girls they all sing..better than Carly, should’ve came in second, E3 should came in 3rd, Carly..liminated…Tate had the stronger and powerful voice, and the most experienced on stage. He also mixed it up…He sang Rock, Upbeat songs and strong ballads..He deserved to win…and all the judges said so and even Carly, E3, 5H,CeCe,, so quit your bitching, the x-factor season 2 has ended..

5H got named press for their cover so it got a nice infuse of views from sites such as The hollywood reporter. Carly’s cover views was mostly from world of mouth and sites like Carter that 5h also got. 5H has a label and Carly wasn’t even signed to Syco at the time she released her cover. Carly only has been signed to Syco since Oscar week.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a cover or not if the people paying/requesting you want those songs. Carly will be releasing more cover videos and one real soon. Although I think we heard a snippet of a version of it at Boot camp.
Heres two non feeling good covers from Carly.

I totally agree about “feeling good.” She’s known for that song. But I think she needs to sing something else. it’s a cover, it’s not her song. I could see her performing her own songs over and over again but she’s not there yet. So keep people interested by covering new songs. I mean Diamond and Beatrice do new covers every month. They don’t cover their x factor songs. Fifth harmony posted a cover a week ago that’s a new cover of Frank Ocean’s song and it has almost as many views on youtube as the cover Carly posted a month ago. She needs new covers.

Feeling Good is the song people want to hear when they hire Carly to perform at their event. It’s kind of like her single/big hit even if it is unofficial. Every artist sings their single or big hit at events.

Yeah, no offense carly but I’m sick of feeling good by nina simone. You’ve covered that so many times. I want new covers. Do a full cover of taylor swift’s “I knew you were trouble” on piano or do a One Direction song. Please.

Really? I didn’t even hear Simon mention Carly’s name in his interview! Some of you Carly fans go overboard with your bashing of other artists. I have no doubt that she will go on to be a superstar and win several awards, but does that mean other artists like E3 and 5H will not also be successful? They have just as much potential as any X Factor alumni to be a huge success in the music industry.

Cool. Can’t wait to hear E3 and 5H’s songs. I also love Demi on the xfactor. I love Carly Rose too. O my gosh she doesn’t look 13 anymore. She’s growing up. I like her singing, but I want to hear new covers of songs she didn’t do on x factor.
