‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 17 preview: Misha Collins is back!
We know based on past comments that everyone has been waiting for the news of Misha Collins’ return to “Supernatural,” and now it’s finally here: Cas will be back in town soon. The bad news? “Soon” in this case means March 20, when the show is going to be back from hiatus in order to air the remainder of its season, probably straight through to its finale in May. (You can check out a list of dates here.)
Not only will everyone’s favorite Angel be back for “Goodbye Stranger,” but we are also going to see the return of a couple of other notable faces in Crowley and Meg. The tablets are going to become a subject of major discussion again, as Sam and Dean have to figure out just how far they are willing to go in order to release all of the demons from the world. Meanwhile, Cas and his crew of angels (even though in reality many of them may be actually under Naomi’s control) also have their own separate agenda, and trying to figure out his motives at the moment is a difficult puzzle in its own right.
The one good thing that we know is that Cas isn’t going away anytime soon now. Collins has been upped to a regular again for season 9 of the show, meaning that he will have many more stories to tell with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. One of the main reasons for this is that with the show’s improved ratings this season (bolstered by the “Arrow” lead-in), the producers have the flexibility to do a little bit more than they did previously.

This is another episode that I will surely watch since Castiel moments with Dean are among the most awesome moments of the show. Im expecting something big and astounding in this season finale. go go go Destiel. :D

No. Not everyone’s favourite angel. There are many of us out here who don’t enjoy the character.
As for him returning as a regular, well, I will not be tuning into S9. The angels and Castiel were boring me rigid all the way back in S4. This year the angel stuff again bores me senseless. I have absolutely no interest in watching any more angel storylines next year.

It’s just a show. You shouldn’t dislike it because your crush goes evil for awhile. This is why good shows go off air because easily swooned women get their panties in a bunch instead of enjoying the good story.

I’m pretty sure that Cas will work against the Winchesters again, Deborah. There are some spoilers that something significant is gonna happen in 817 between Dean/Cas, something “scary” and “inevitable”. And guess what, the title of the ep is “Goodbye, Stranger” (Cas is practically a stranger now due to Naomi) and “the unholy trinity” speaks for itself. This is going to be awful, I don’t think I’m going to watch the episode. Actually, I’m not going to watch any upcoming episodes until someone reassures me that Cas will eventually be ok.

I’m ecstatic Cas is returning shortly and Misha is signed again as a regular in season nine. However, I’m worried by CW’s promo: “The Unholy Trinity.” If they try making Cas a villain again and put Dean and Cas at odds again, the powers-that-be are going to see Cas fans hitting the roof in fury, again, and it’s going to be a major disaster for the show. Don’t they remember the backlash from seasons six and (especially) seven?!
