‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 17 preview: Misha Collins is back!

Misha CollinsWe know based on past comments that everyone has been waiting for the news of Misha Collins’ return to “Supernatural,” and now it’s finally here: Cas will be back in town soon. The bad news? “Soon” in this case means March 20, when the show is going to be back from hiatus in order to air the remainder of its season, probably straight through to its finale in May. (You can check out a list of dates here.)

Not only will everyone’s favorite Angel be back for “Goodbye Stranger,” but we are also going to see the return of a couple of other notable faces in Crowley and Meg. The tablets are going to become a subject of major discussion again, as Sam and Dean have to figure out just how far they are willing to go in order to release all of the demons from the world. Meanwhile, Cas and his crew of angels (even though in reality many of them may be actually under Naomi’s control) also have their own separate agenda, and trying to figure out his motives at the moment is a difficult puzzle in its own right.

The one good thing that we know is that Cas isn’t going away anytime soon now. Collins has been upped to a regular again for season 9 of the show, meaning that he will have many more stories to tell with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. One of the main reasons for this is that with the show’s improved ratings this season (bolstered by the “Arrow” lead-in), the producers have the flexibility to do a little bit more than they did previously.
