‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Jenna Ushkowitz’s Tina gets a Madonna solo
For those of you who are massive Tina fans on “Glee,” you’re probably rather happy at the moment that Jenna Ushkowitz’s character has been receiving a little bit more time in the spotlight in the new year. As irrational as her crush on Blaine is, you have to give her some serious credit for actually going for it. As a matter of fact, these feelings are likely to be exemplified during her “Hung Up” performance on Thursday night’s new episode “Diva.”
We have already seen a few clips from this actual performance on the show, and we can already tell you that Tina is actually going to strut around in the famous outfit that Madonna wore during the actual musical video for this song. This seems even more appropriate when you consider that this is more or less a straight-up cover of the original song. The music is the same, and Ushkowitz sings it very similar to how the pop megastar would.
The most amazing thing here is perhaps that “Glee” is still finding ways to continue using Madonna’s song catalog. “The Power of Madonna” back in season 1 is one of the most-popular tribute episodes that the show has ever done, and it really kicked off a tradition that has since been followed with tributes to Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears (twice), and “Saturday Night Fever.”
Sadly for Tina, we don’t think that this performance is going to get her any closer to a man who is not only gay, but has some assorted feelings for Kurt mixed with some unrequited ones for Sam.
