‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Aimee Garcia receives series regular promotion
Here’s some news that you may at least a little bit surprised by, but only in terms of it not happening before now.
According to some new reports, “Dexter” has officially made the move now to promote Aimee Garcia, who plays Angel’s brother and Dexter’s nanny Jamie Batista on the Showtime drama, to a series regular for the entirety of season 8. This move was a long time coming, and it also makes perfect sense: Garcia has been a part of the show since season 6, and practically appears in every episode, anyway. Not only that, but the show had an extra series regular spot open after Lauren Velez’s character of LaGuerta was killed by Deb during the finale late last year.
As for what is going to be coming up for Jamie moving forward, all we know at the moment can be summed up in one word: Quinn. She started to get close to Angel’s partner and the troublemaker of Miami Metro at the end of last season, and this poses some bad news for Dexter. If you remember back to season 5, then you will know that Quinn spent a good bit of time sniffing around Dexter, but he backed off at the time due to the fact that he was in love with Deb. Now, he may not have the same sort of motivation if he realizes that there is something seriously off with the blood-splatter expert (especially in the wake of what happened to LaGuerta).
“Dexter” season 8 will officially start shooting on Monday, with the season premiere set for Sunday, June 30 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. What do you think about this news?
