‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Darren Criss takes on Queen classic
Just in case you’ve felt as though there has been a lacking on “Glee” when it comes to Blaine numbers, Darren Criss’ character is going to take center stage yet again for a fun performance on Thursday night’s “Diva” episode that pays tribute to one of the biggest male divas of all time: Freddie Mercury.
Specifically, the song that we are talking about here is the classic Queen hit “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and unsurprisingly he has a great deal of fun with it. Musically, the song is pretty straightforward in comparison to what the legendary band did; after all, how could you really “spin” what is considered to be one of the better songs in rock history? Just the fact that Ryan Murphy and the music producers managed to clear this is reason enough to be excited.
So what is the context behind the performance? Our belief is that it will be pretty simple, as Blaine is probably out to prove to both some of the ladies in New Direction (as well as some of the guys who doubt him) that male performers can carry with them the “diva” label just as well as the Whitney Houstons and Mariah Careys of the world. This is ironically the second straight episode where the male psyche and self-image has been questioned, as there were serious issues throughout “Naked” about the objectification of the male body.
Overall, do you thinks that Criss as Blaine completely nails “Don’t Stop Me Now,” or does it make you want to stop listening? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also hear Lea Michele and Chris Colfer’s rendition of the Les Miserables classic “Bring Him Home” by visiting the story over here.

Darren Criss is flawless as always. I think Freddie Mercury would be proud.
