‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6: Check out the Super Bowl promo!
With the Super Bowl airing on CBS this year, it only makes sense that the network would want to spend a great deal of their airtime in order to promote some of their hit shows. With that in mind, we present the funny new promo created for the sixth season of “The Big Bang Theory.”
For those of you who were looking forward to seeing actual footage from the show, you will probably be disappointed by what you see here. Instead, the basic theme of this promo is just laughing at how inept Dr. Sheldon Cooper and the rest of his geeky friends are when it comes to football. Everyone looks like they are about to come out of the tunnel wearing football gear and ready for the big game … but we have a problem: Johnny Galecki’s Leonard for whatever reason believes that you are supposed to wear the pads on the outside of his jersey.
As for why this show specifically was chosen to be highlighted by the network (especially at a time when ad rates are more or less through the roof), it’s easy: CBS wants to see the rich get richer. This is already the highest-rated scripted show on TV in the 18-49 demographic, though it did drop slightly against “American Idol” this past week. If the show can find a way to get even more viewers on board, it would all but guarantee that this show will last just as long as the actors and the writers want to make it happen.
