‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: More on Naya Rivera, future mash-ups
While we already know that the 13th and 14th episodes of “Glee” season 4 are going to revolve respectively around divas and Will and Emma’s wedding, let’s take a little bit of a look forward now at what will be transpiring in the episode following these two (which, based on “American Idol” airing two-hour episodes at the end of this month, will likely not air until March).
Episode 2×15 is officially entitled “Girls (and Boys) on Film,” which is a pretty cheeky reference in its own right to a popular song. It also, based on the new synopsis via FoxFast, gives us a pretty good indication as to what the episode is going to actually be about:
“The kids of New Directions go head-to-head in a boys vs. girls mash-up competition using the music of the movies. Santana’s snooping results in two shocking discoveries.”
On a personal note, we are hoping that the story revolves more around the latter than the former. If Naya Rivera’s character does end up moving to New York as has been rumored, this gives the Big Apple the opportunity to be the focus of more stories. In addition to that, the whole mash-up storyline has been done so many times already that it no longer feels exciting, even with the added attachment of movie songs. This instead feels more like a story to just fill up an episode as the group prepares for Regionals and then, if they end up winning that, Nationals.
Hopefully, this episode is also bringing us a step closer to meeting Jessica Sanchez, who is scheduled to start taping her arc on the show at some point in the next several weeks (though after she performs in the Philippines on Valentine’s Day).
What do you think about the idea behind this episode, and what do you think Santana’s revelations will be? If you have not watched the first performance from “Diva” yet, you can do so here.
